Why does TV suck major ass?

Seriously though, why? It's god awful. There are like 5 shows that have any substance to them at all. Most of it is retreaded trash that MTV or E! has done like a hundred times. Reality TV isn't fucking reality!!!! It's trite contrived shit. They're scripted, and I use the term loosely, "actors." Even the regular fiction TV sucks major ballsack. Lost is probably THE worst TV show to come out since Saved By The Bell. It's garbage. The actors are horrendous. The story is so fucked up and trying to be genius with it's craptastic plot twists that it ends up being obvious and a big fat epic fucking fail. The only good TV I've seen, is usually on the History or Discovery Channel. Gangland for instance is great documentary TV. It actually shows shit that affects our lives. Gangs are a huge problem in our society that we kind of blew off after the mid-90's. Us blowing it off didn't stop it from spreading like the fucking Black Plague. One fictional TV show that I think is worth anything is Supernatural, yeah it's your standard monster hunter spiel but it's fucking good. It's campy and cheesy, like a good action flick. The lines are your standard macho bravado and the soundtrack is always good classic rock. It's fun to watch because it isn't pretentious trying to be profound and deep. It's two dudes beating the shit out of horror movie monsters! It's like being 10 and sneaking back into the living room to watch the horror flick your parents said you couldn't. I rarely even watch TV anymore most of it's crap. Bones - crap, Lost - feces in a bag, The Hills - mung (yeah see if you remember what that means). Again I ask, why does TV suck major ass? The world may never know.
